Project Details

QCRE is designing, supplying, installing, testing, and commissioning Hybrid/Off-Grid Solar Photovoltaic Plants with Battery Energy Storage Systems across 85 educational facilities in Jubbaland and Galmudug States of Somalia. This includes two years of Operations and Maintenance to ensure sustainability and reliability.

This initiative is transforming schools that previously lacked electricity, creating bright, safe, and modern learning environments for thousands of students.

About the project

With support from the World Bank and implementation by the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, this project is more than an energy investment, it is a commitment to the future of Somalia’s children.


Through our work, we are:

  • Extending study hours for students.
  • Empowering teachers with modern teaching tools.
  • Creating safer school environments with reliable lighting.
  • Investing in Somalia’s future by giving children the same opportunities as their peers worldwide.
